Term 4 Week 7
Community Celebration Evening – Friday 3 December 6.00pm for a 6.30pm start.
How exciting that we can gather for our Community Celebration Evening next Friday night! We are very grateful to Kildare College who have kindly allowed us to use their gymnasium for the evening. Without this generosity we would not have been able to host the evening. I do ask for your support on the evening by following the directions QR check in and wearing a mask as you enter and leave the venue when social distancing will be a challenge. Once you are seated you can take it off but must maintain the social distancing requirements and put it back on when you are moving around.
Important information to note for Community Celebration Evening:
- Students will meet their teacher on the oval by 6.15pm at the latest. They will then move into the gymnasium
- Students may be collected from school between 12.45pm-1.00pm on the day of the concert from the back gate on Brunswick Terrace
- The evening will be filmed for those not able to join us and the link will be shared with families as soon as it is available
- Food or drink is not allowed inside the gymnasium. Students may bring a named water bottle with them on the evening
- Parking is limited onsite but is available on the surrounding streets (Lyons Rd, Valiant Road and other side streets)
- At the end of the evening the children can be collected from where they are sitting in the gymnasium but please ensure that your child’s teacher is aware that you are taking him or her.
I look forward to this wonderful night and seeing many of you there.
COVID Safe Practices
Whilst wearing a mask is not compulsory in outside areas, it is highly recommended that people do wear one if social distancing is not able to be maintained. This would be the case for families waiting at the back gate for collection of children at the end of the day. If you are not wearing a mask please ensure that you social distancing from others. Thank you for your support with this.
Premier’s Reading Challenge
On Tuesday (23 November) we welcomed Hon Rachel Sanderson to our school to present the Premier’s Reading Challenge certificates and medals. Rachel was very impressed to see that all the children at our school had participated and she shared with us that some of her favourite stories growing up were the Magic Faraway Tree and The Famous Five. Congratulations to all the students for your participation in such a great initiative that encourages the love of reading. We also thank Rachel for kindly giving up her time to be with us for this celebration.
Class Structures 2022
We are currently finalising the class structures for 2022. This does take a considerable amount of time and planning. We consider the needs of the children academically and socially and pair this with the overall goals for our school community for 2022. Once this has been finalised, I will be sharing this information with the community.
Kind regards,
Emily Sayer
Principal

Congratulations to the children who have celebrated their First Reconciliation over the past couple of weekends. Reconciliation is the sacrament in the Catholic Church which celebrates Gods love and forgiveness.
Last Friday our year six class spent the day at the Broadview Bowling Club, reflecting on their time at primary school. Plenty of memories were made and fun was had.
