Parent Partnership and Involvement

Our school is more than a school; we are a community. We are on a journey with you and your child during an important time of learning and development. We enjoy sharing that journey with you, valuing the involvement of our parents, grandparents and caregivers, to make the school community a place of friendship and partnership.

You will make friends for life at St Monica’s Parish School. We are a multi‑generational school, with a strong tradition now flowing into the third generation of families to attend here. There are countless opportunities for you to be involved – from  helping in class, from volunteering at school events to the Parents & Friends Committee and School Board. One thing we do know: whatever your involvement, children love to see that those who care for them are a part of their school life.

To ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students in our care, all volunteers, are required to hold a current Working with Children Police Clearance as well as RRHAN-EC (Responding to Risks of Harm,  Abuse and Neglect - Education and Care) certificate. These can be easily obtained through the school and there is no cost involved.

If you would like to volunteer at St Monica's, please contact us.

The School Board works with the Principal to support and promote the overall wellbeing of the school and ensures compliance with legal obligations. Board membership includes the Parish Priest (President), Principal (Chief Executive Officer), Parents, Staff and Community representatives. Enrolling parents are eligible to nominate to be on the Board. The Board meets twice a term.

The Parents and Friends (P&F) committee aims to provide an avenue for parents and supporters to work with the Principal to further enhance children's learning, to maintain, care for and develop the school and grounds, and to promote the interests of the children and the school. Every parent is a member of our P&F and are invited to consider coming along to meetings.

Each class will have one or two CPRs. The function of the CPRs an opportunity to work with your child’s class teacher(s) to enhance the building of strong and supportive relationships with the families in your child’s class. Nominations for CPRs are called for early in the school year.
